SEA COAST SYMPHONY

Sea Coast Symphony, originally the Dana Point Symphony, grew out of then-Mayor Scott Schoeffel’s vision of integrating and elevating music, art, and culture in Dana Point. In collaboration with Music and Artistic director Dean Anderson and others, the Symphony began in 2012.  In 2023, the Symphony changed its name to reflect its expanded outreach, while maintaining its base in Dana Point, a California coastal city. We support musicians and artists with visual art displays and audience gatherings following the musical performances.  We promote performances in a variety of locations at a price that makes it accessible to all. We are proud to continue the tradition of excellence and innovation that has defined us from the beginning.

 Music and Artistic Director Dean Anderson has been the Director of Orchestra Studies at La Sierra University since 2013. He is also frequently engaged as a guest. conductor with professional orchestras around the globe. Most recently, he conducted Rossini’s Il Barbieri di Siviglia in Pisa, Italyas part of a production by Teatro Goldoni. In addition, he has conducted orchestras such as the Orquesta del Festival Gaudix Clásica in Spain, and the Orchestra Filarmonica Campana in Italy. He has been the Music Director and Artistic Director for the Sea Coast Symphony (formerly the Dana Point Symphony) for over twelve years.Join us on our next adventure! Whenever possible at our performance locations, we showcase a visual artist at our post-concert receptions.  Our audience members can meet the artists and see selections of their work.  We encourage young audience members to attend our live musical performances and art events and enjoy an up close and personal experience with music, art, and culture in a friendly environment.  We also host special art receptions featuring local artists.  Join our mailing list to be alerted to upcoming exhibitions.
